Terry Downey
President CEO
Terry Downey has more than 40 years of experience in gaming and sportsbook operations. He served Stations Casinos for many years as general manager and more recently served as President of SLS Las Vegas and Aliante Gaming in North Las Vegas. Mr. Downey joined the CQ Holding Company, Inc. (CQHCO) team in 2019 and his impact was immediately felt through the development of business and strategic initiatives that have transformed CQHCO from near bankruptcy into a profitable and rapidly growing enterprise with a strong balance sheet.
John Janicky
Marketing
John Janicky has more than 25 years of gaming industry experience with expertise in marketing, branding and long-term strategic planning. Mr. Janicky first entered the gaming industry in 1994 as a valet parking attendant, sparking a career that would span warehousing, procurement and ultimately, casino marketing. Now a senior casino marketing executive for more than a decade, Mr. Janicky joined CQ Holding Company, Inc. (CQHCO) in 2019 and has led marketing efforts that have resulted in increased market share and profitability. Mr. Janicky also leads hotel operations and assists with other non-gaming operations. He currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife and three kids.
Cheryl Ash
CFO
Cheryl Ash joined the Board of Directors in November 2019 and serves as Chief Financial Officer of CQ Holding Company, Inc. (CQHCO). Ms. Ash has established a diverse background and experience over the past 20 years in the gaming industry. She previously served as the Vice President of Finance for SLS Las Vegas and Resorts World Catskills. In addition to her experience in and knowledge of casino operations, regulations, internal controls and financial reporting, Ms. Ash’s responsibilities have included strategic planning, establishment of financial policies and controls, risk management, SEC reporting and compliance, and capital procurement. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Bill Vandersand
General Counsel
Bill is an attorney and has over 10 years of gaming industry experience with expertise in compliance, licensing, governmental and regulatory affairs. Bill joined Casino Queen prior to the parent Company’s formation as associate general counsel in 2010 and promoted to General Counsel in 2018. In 2020, Bill spearheaded licensing and internal control approvals to open DraftKings at Casino Queen’s sportsbook operation. He holds a current gaming license in Illinois.
Scott Kolen
Food and Beverage
Scott Kolen began his food and beverage career learning Southern hospitality and Creole cuisine from the Brennan family at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans. A gaming veteran with more than 25 years of casino hospitality experience at companies such as Caesars Entertainment and Hard Rock International, Mr. Kolen is an operations specialist in the culinary, beverage and convention fields. Prior to joining the CQHCO team, he served as Director of Purchasing & Inventory Control at Aliante Casino Director of Food and Beverage at SLS Las Vegas. Mr. Kolen is committed to upholding the long-held prestige of casino hospitality within the modern framework of today’s hospitality industry.
Vanessa Martin
Human Resources
Vanessa Martin began her hospitality career at Palms Casino Resort in 2007, while also pursuing her bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She continued her career with Starwood Hotel Brands and spent more than a decade cultivating her skills within different levels of human resources. Mrs. Martin’s most recently gained experience serving as Director of HR in the healthcare industry. With a variety of HR knowledge in various fields, Mrs. Martin has established many programs spanning team member relations, recognition, community partnerships, benefits and more.
Lauren Westerfield
Vice President of Interactive

Lauren Westerfield has served over fifteen years in the hospitality and gaming industry as a veteran marketing executive, assisting the hospitality world converge into the omnichannel space, own their brands, and create a memorable guest experience inside and outside of the brick and mortar buildings. Her career as a Marketing and Digital Gaming Executive has highlighted by many roles serving as the digital and innovation lead at Station Casinos, Inc., (launching STN Sports and play for fun STN Play), IGT (leading the convergence of the Double Down Social Casino Acquisition) and Maverick Gaming (launching the Play Maverick Sports online and retail sports platforms). In the most recent capacity at CQ Holding Company, she is leading the efforts of online gaming and sports betting space, building start-up solutions and teams from the ground-up in multiple jurisdictions.

Stacy Stagg
Vice President of Non-Gaming
Stacy Stagg started working in the service industry in her teen years and fell in love with the industry! Stacy's first job while attending high school, was as a line cook and dishwasher. She continued her education while working in various restaurants as a hostess and then food server in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. Stacy soon began her management career with Station Casinos, a leader in Gaming industry in the Las Vegas local's market, as an assistant restaurant manager. Over her 25-year career with Station Casinos, she held several positions including; restaurant manager, Training & Development manager, Assistant F & B Director, F & B Director, VP & Assistant General Manager and VP & General Manager. Her roles within the company enabled her to work at several different properties over the years within the Station casinos folio, where the scope of properties included a resort, mid - level and small property divisions.
